Arya Staphana Divas: Be a needle, not scissors
On Februari 11th followers of the Arya Samaj conmemorate the day Swami Dayanand was born. He is the founder of the Arya Samaj, a reformed branch of Hinduism. He was a great filosopher and good speaker. In October 2007 it was exactly 125 years since Swami Dayanand wrote his 'Satyarth Prakash', a religious-spiritual guidebook for daily life.

Hunt for the souls
Within christianity converting is a divine task, the only way to heaven is trough Jesus. Hinduism says every religion has its own value and is one of the many ways to God. Bidesia, the migrants that never returned
Bidesia is a word from the Bhojpuri language and refers to the people who, from 1873 on, moved from India to Surinam to work but never returned. These people and those left behind expressed their emotions of sadness and loneliness in songs, poems and drama.

After the abolition in 1848 the French gouvernment recruted indentured labourers from India. 40.000 Indians came to Guadalupe and Martinique to work on the sugarcane fields. An impressive documentary on the lives of these hindu's on Guadalupe.
